How We Work

Collect, Drop, Move Bags, Collect Again

L & N Tours is not a party bus company with walking groups squeezed in between jobs. Les and Natalie run private minibus days for people who know where they want to walk, and need the transport to behave like part of the route plan.

Les Naden started L & N Tours in Buxton in 1999 after years driving school and works buses across Derbyshire; the business is now run by Les and his daughter Natalie.

  • Morning pick-up from hotel, station, village hall or club base.
  • Drop at the agreed start point, including tight timing for Edale, Castleton and Goyt Valley starts.
  • Boot bags, poles and wet packs carried sensibly, with a small luggage trailer available.
  • Afternoon collection from a pub finish, car park, lane end or lower-level fallback point.
  • Waiting time handled calmly when mist, mud or a slower tail changes the day.

Popular Walking Moves

Useful Roads, Not Just Pretty Names

These are the sorts of jobs we price every season. The detail matters: coach bans, muddy verges, school traffic, full car parks and pubs that are easier to collect from than the advertised finish.

Hope Valley

Edale To Castleton

Good linear day with a sensible minibus return when legs are tired after Mam Tor, Lose Hill or the Great Ridge.

White Peak

Monsal Trail And Ashford

Clean starts, awkward finishes and mixed pace groups that appreciate not walking back along the road.

High Peak

Goyt Valley

Reservoir loops, Errwood Hall, Shining Tor and flexible pick-ups when the tops are carrying low cloud.

Staffordshire

Dovedale And The Roaches

Longer road work from Buxton, planned properly with start times that avoid the worst car park pressure.

Kinder Edges

Hayfield, Edale, Snake Pass

Leader phones checked, fallback points agreed and collections kept realistic when the group spreads out.

Pub Finish

Evening Return

Booked with the day hire so walkers can finish with a meal, dry socks and a safe return to Buxton.

The Day Sheet

The Bit That Stops A Good Walk Turning Scrappy

Every booked day runs from a printed day sheet. It is plain, practical and kept with the driver, because phone signal and wet paper are both unreliable around the tops.
