A 16-Seat Walking Group Vehicle, Not A Party Bus

The vehicle is set up for belted passengers, muddy walking kit, practical route sheets and local roads. It is maintained for proper passenger work and driven by someone who knows where a minibus should not be forced.

Boarding And Comfort

What Passengers Should Expect

  • 16 passenger seats with seat belts, suitable for organised groups up to that number.
  • Step up into the vehicle with a hand rail. Tell us if any passenger needs extra boarding time.
  • Heating and ventilation for wet days, cold starts and steamy windows after a long climb.
  • First aid kit, OS map sheets for common routes and spare bin bags for wet kit.
  • Printed day sheet with leader phone numbers, timings, start notes and finish notes.

Boots, Poles And Packs

Wet Kit Is Normal, Aisles Must Stay Clear

Boots

Muddy boots are welcome if bagged or knocked clean before boarding. The bus is cleaned properly, but loose mud on steps is a safety problem.

Poles

Walking poles should be collapsed or bundled. Sharp tips need to be away from seats, passengers and the aisle.

Trailer

A small luggage trailer is available for £30 per day for boots, poles and wet packs. Ask for it when you request the quote.

Dogs

Wet dogs are only carried by prior agreement and must stay on the floor. Tell us breed, number and whether the group has dog towels.

Access Limits

Some Lanes Are Not Minibus Lanes

Peak District roads can be narrow, steep, busy and badly parked. A safe minibus plan sometimes means walking 300 metres to a better collection point.

  • No off-road driving, field access or farm track pick-ups unless the surface is suitable for a standard minibus.
  • Tight village turns may require a collection on the edge of the village rather than outside the pub door.
  • We avoid stopping where the bus blocks farm access, resident parking, bus stops or emergency routes.
  • Changes to start or finish points are free up to 48 hours before travel if they stay within the agreed mileage band.

Leader Responsibilities

The Driver Handles Transport, The Leader Handles The Walk

  • Give a passenger count that does not exceed 16 on one vehicle.
  • Supply the leader phone number and, where possible, a back marker number.
  • Tell passengers the collection time, collection side and latest return rule.
  • Keep luggage out of the aisle and avoid loose wet kit under other passengers’ feet.
  • Tell us before the day about dogs, mobility concerns, large packs or unusual equipment.

Licensing And Turn Downs

Passenger Work Done Properly

Vehicles are PSV maintained and run for booked passenger hire with a driver. Insurance, maintenance and licensing are treated as part of the job, not small print after the price.

  • No stag or hen nights, pub crawls or party buses.
  • No standalone airport transfers.
  • No unbooked taxi work or same-day call-outs.
  • No groups over 16 passengers on one vehicle.
  • No overloaded luggage in the aisle.
  • No Sunday driving unless part of a pre-booked walking weekend agreed at least 6 weeks ahead.

Send the date, passenger count, route, kit note and any access concern. A quick question before deposit is better than an impossible turn on a wet lane.
